Pigeon Point Lighthouse has long been an iconic photography point in San Francisco. The Pigeon Point Light Station State Historic Park is arguably one of the most beautiful locations in all of the San Franciso Bay. The name comes from a ship, the Carrier Pigeon, that wrecked on the point in 1853. The stunning lighthouse stands 115 feet tall and is right on the coastal highway (State Route 1).

Point Reyes was formerly named Punto de los Reyes by the Spanish explorer Vizcaino in 1603. The peninsula protects Drakes Bay and features lush vegetation. Hiking and ocean kayaking are two of the favorite pastimes of visitors from San Francisco which is 30 miles northwest of Point Reyes Peninsula. As you can see in the picture of Point Reyes, it is a beautiful ocean location.
