El Lago Espejo (Mirror Lake)
El Lago Espejo was aptly named for the beautiful mirror like reflection created by the serene surface of this beautiful lake in Neuquén Province, Argentina. As you can see, the reflection created by the stillness exactly mirrors the tree line and mountain peaks.
The snow capped mountains in the distance feed the lake with numerous streams and waterways as the snow begins to melt and make its way down the mountains. As you can imagine this is a very cold lake almost year round.
Another unique feature of Lago Espejo is the fact that as you walk along the calm water you’ll find lava sand, rock walls and Juncus (rushes). The Juncus is unique because it is usually only found in wet marshlands.
